On April 11th, our college held a signing ceremony for the Sino-Finnish "2+1" Internship Nurse Training Program Agreement with Ylivieska Vocational College from Finland. Attending the ceremony were Secretary of the College Party Committee Jie Lu, Deputy Secretary and Discipline Inspection Secretary Chen Zhihai, as well as heads and relevant staff from the International Affairs Office, Nursing Department, and Haitian Company.
During the ceremony, Secretary Jie Lu expressed his gratitude to the Finnish representatives for their hard work during the project negotiations and congratulated both sides on the successful outcome of the talks. He stated that the signing of the agreement marks a new beginning for the cooperation between the two colleges. He hoped that both institutions would approach the implementation of the project with a serious and responsible attitude, collaborate effectively, fulfill their respective obligations and responsibilities, and work together to ensure the high-quality implementation of the cooperation agreement and the smooth achievement of the expected outcomes. He believed that the Sino-Finnish "2+1" Internship Nurse Program established between the two colleges would further strengthen educational cooperation between China and Finland and promote the deep integration of the healthcare industries in both countries.
Paivi Heinonen, Vice Principal of Ylivieska Vocational College and the signing representative, acknowledged that although the negotiation process was particularly challenging, the results achieved were genuinely gratifying. She expressed confidence that the cooperation project would yield satisfactory outcomes through the joint efforts of both colleges.
According to the agreement, in 2014, our college will collaborate with Ylivieska Vocational College to introduce Finnish nursing teachers and curricula to specifically train nursing students. After completing the first two years of the Sino-Finnish joint program at our college, students will spend their third year in Finland to study the remaining theoretical courses, undertake internships, and take the Finnish nursing "Competency-Based Qualification" exam to obtain the Finnish nursing qualifications. This will ultimately lead to high-paying employment opportunities in Finland. Additionally, the agreement includes cooperation on training our college’s professional teachers and conducting three-month short-term student exchange programs between the two institutions.
The implementation of the Sino-Finnish "2+1" Internship Nurse Training Program at our college is expected to significantly boost the college’s professional development, enhance its international cooperation capabilities, and promote students’ overseas employment and further education opportunities.
