Delegation from Finland’s Ylivieska Vocational College Visits Our College for Nursing Cooperation Project Negotiations

Time:2014-04-14

On April 9th, a delegation from Finland’s Ylivieska Vocational College, led by Vice Principal Paivi Heinonen, visited our college to discuss a nursing cooperation project. Attending the welcome meeting were Dean Xue Jianping, Vice Dean Liu Zhong, as well as heads and relevant staff from the International Affairs Office, Nursing Department, and Haitian Company.

At the welcome meeting, Dean Xue Jianping reviewed the friendly relationship between the two colleges since May 2011. Through mutual visits and exchanges, both sides have deepened their understanding of each other, laying a solid foundation for further cooperation. Dean Xue stated that both colleges have long intended to launch a substantive “2+1” internship nurse training program in nursing education and have conducted extensive discussions and feasibility studies over a long period. The project has now entered the substantive negotiation phase. He emphasized that both parties should conduct in-depth and detailed negotiations based on the principles of equality, mutual trust, and mutual benefit. He hoped that both sides could reach a consensus through mutual understanding and accommodation, and wished the cooperation a successful outcome.

Vice Principal Paivi Heinonen, representing the Finnish negotiation team, expressed that the Finnish delegation’s long journey to our college for the project agreement negotiations demonstrated their sincere desire for cooperation. Over the past year, both sides have invested significant effort into the feasibility study of the project and have reached phased agreements. She believed that with further joint efforts, the negotiations would proceed smoothly and the “2+1” nursing cooperation project would be successfully launched.

Following the welcome meeting, the negotiation representatives from both sides will spend the next two days conducting in-depth consultations on specific details of the “2+1” internship nurse training program, including curriculum design, the introduction of Finnish teachers and textbooks, and the implementation of the project.
