Recently, Leshan Vocational and Technical College (LVTC) received an official letter from the Embassy of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in the People's Republic of China, which specially invited 5 outstanding Lao international students from the college to participate in the VIP reception and exhibition hall setup work for the 20th Western China International Fair (WCIF) held from May 25 to 29. This special invitation marks that LVTC has gained official recognition in the field of international talent cultivation in the Lancang-Mekong Region, making it the first higher vocational college in Sichuan Province to receive a special invitation from the Lao Embassy in China to participate in the service work of a national-level exhibition.
During the 5-day exhibition, the international student team of LVTC was assigned to the Lao National Pavilion — the core exhibition area of the Guest of Honor Country at this WCIF — and undertook core tasks such as VIP reception and exhibition item interpretation. With their fluent Chinese communication skills, strong sense of responsibility, and professional service quality, they successfully completed all tasks, and their performance won high recognition from all parties.
What is particularly noteworthy is that when His Excellency Vice Premier Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune of Laos visited and inspected the Lao National Pavilion, the international students of LVTC participated in the reception service with appropriate and professional demeanor. During the exchange, Vice Premier Kikeo kindly inquired about the students' study and life, highly praised their accurate and fluent Chinese expression, and said, "Your Chinese is excellent!" He earnestly encouraged the students to cherish the opportunity to study in China, study diligently, achieve academic success, and contribute wisdom and strength to deepening the traditional friendship and practical cooperation between China and Laos in the future.
