On June 24, 2025, a delegation led by Svetlana Anashkina, Vice Rector of Gomel State Medical University of Belarus, visited our college.
First, members of the delegation from Gomel State Medical University visited the medical training building. They carefully listened to the introduction of the functional layout and development philosophy of the training center, and showed particular interest in the distinctive Red Cross Emergency Rescue Training Base and the time-honored Traditional Chinese Medicine Therapy Training Base. They stopped to observe and frequently exchanged questions.
At the subsequent symposium, President Liu Zhong, on behalf of the college, extended a sincere welcome to the Belarusian colleagues for their visit, and gave a detailed introduction to the overall development of Leshan Vocational and Technical College, the construction of advantageous disciplines, and especially the positive progress made in international exchanges and cooperation in recent years. President Liu Zhong emphasized that he hoped to take this visit as an opportunity to build a solid cooperation bridge between the two institutions and explore win-win paths in such fields as medical education, teacher-student exchanges, and scientific research collaboration.
Svetlana Anashkina, Vice Rector of Gomel State Medical University, shared the characteristics and achievements of her university in medical education and scientific research innovation, and expressed a strong willingness to cooperate. She particularly pointed out that the two sides share highly consistent goals in medical talent training and health services, and looked forward to establishing a long-term cooperation mechanism to jointly cultivate high-level medical talents and contribute to regional health undertakings. The talks yielded fruitful results.
In the presence of representatives from both sides, Leshan Vocational and Technical College and Gomel State Medical University of Belarus formally signed a friendly cooperation framework agreement. This agreement not only marks the establishment of an official partnership between the two institutions but also symbolizes a solid practice of pragmatic cooperation between China and Belarus in the field of medical education. Vice President Zhou Qin, as well as relevant persons in charge from the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing and Health Care, and the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, attended the symposium.
This signing is another important milestone for Leshan Vocational and Technical College to deepen international exchanges and expand high-quality cooperation resources. Under the framework of the agreement, the two sides will focus on exploring substantive cooperation in the integration of traditional and modern medicine education, teacher and student exchange programs, and joint research projects. The integration and sharing of advantageous resources between the two institutions will not only improve the quality and international perspective of their respective medical talent training but also contribute to promoting "Belt and Road" educational cooperation, people-to-people bonds, and building a global community of health for all.
