On June 20, the 18th China Catering Industry Development Conference took place in Leshan. At the conference, Leshan Delicacy Culinary Academy, founded by Leshan Vocational and Technical College, was officially inaugurated. Hui Zhaoxu, Secretary of the Party Group and Director of Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce, and Zhao Yingchun, Deputy Secretary of Leshan Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Leshan, jointly unveiled the academy. Over a thousand industry elites from national leading catering enterprises, authoritative experts, scholars, and top 100 Chinese catering enterprises convened to witness the launch of Leshan Delicacy Culinary Academy and the new chapter of vocational education empowering industrial development.
The academy was initiated by the college at the end of 2024. Through research and collaboration with 11 counties (cities, districts) and Leshan High - tech Zone, as well as study visits to multiple provincial and national institutions with exemplary experience, it has taken solid strides toward establishing itself as:
A talent cultivation hub supporting Leshan’s mission to become a "World Cuisine Capital"
A technical platform for Leshan cuisine R&D and standard formulation
An exchange center for inheriting and innovating Leshan food culture
A key base for experiencing food culture and organizing educational tourism
A distinctive brand promoting Leshan cuisine’s global expansion and high - level opening - up
The official establishment of Leshan Delicacy Culinary Academy signals a new era for Leshan’s catering talent development. Moving forward, the academy will dynamically adjust its academic programs, optimize curricula, and nurture high - skilled culinary professionals, injecting fresh impetus into Leshan’s pursuit of the "World Cuisine Capital" goal.
