​Our College Hosts "Warm Winter, Experience Chinese Culture" Event for Foreign Teachers and Students

On the morning of January 25, 2019, the International Cooperation Office held the "Warm Winter, Experience Chinese Culture" Spring Festival event at the Academic Exchange Center. The event allowed 27 international students and one foreign teacher to experience Chinese folk culture up close. College leaders Jian Lu, Liu Zhong, Chen Zhihai, and relevant staff from the International Student Management Office, International Cooperation Office, Student Affairs Office, Academic Affairs Office, and Calligraphy and Painting Association attended.


Party Secretary Jian Lu's Greetings:

Jian Lu, Secretary of the College Party Committee, extended New Year greetings to the foreign teachers and students. He said that the Spring Festival is a traditional Chinese festival when families reunite to have a New Year's dinner. Today's activities, including writing "Fu" characters, couplets, making dumplings, and having a reunion dinner, are meant to help everyone enjoy a happy and joyful Chinese New Year. He also advised the students to stay safe, plan their study and life well during the winter vacation, and have a peaceful, happy, and safe Spring Festival.


Event Highlights:

The event included sections on "Spring Festival Customs", "Fu Enters Every Home", "Red and Prosperous Couplets", "Pig - themed Dumplings", and "A Big and Happy New Year". These activities allowed the foreign teachers and students to experience the warmth and liveliness of the Chinese Lunar New Year.


Participants' Feedback:

Through experiencing Chinese Spring Festival traditions and the joyful atmosphere, the foreign teachers and students felt the college's blessings and warmth, creating wonderful memories. The international students expressed their intention to study harder in the new year, deepen their understanding of Chinese history and culture, and become ambassadors of international friendship and cooperation.
