From June 3rd to 4th, 2015, Professor Wei-chi Yang, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Asian Technology Conference in Mathematics (ATCM) and a faculty member at Radford University in the United States, visited our college to inspect the preparations for the ATCM2015 conference. Professor Yang met with the leadership of our college and the relevant leaders of Leshan Normal University. He also attended the first meeting of the local organizing committee for ATCM2015, held in the conference room on the sixth floor of our college. During the meeting, he listened to a report on the conference preparations from Professor Liu Zhong, the chair of the local organizing committee. They discussed the next phase of work and inspected the conference venue and hotel facilities. Professor Yang highly commended the preparatory work of the local organizing committee, which is led by our college. The leadership of our college and Leshan Normal University also expressed their full support for the convening of ATCM2015.
The ATCM was founded by Professor Wei-chi Yang in 1995, with the first academic symposium held at the National Institute of Education in Singapore. According to the resolution of the conference, an international academic conference would be held annually in Asia to discuss and exchange ideas on modern mathematical technology, the integration of educational technology with mathematics teaching, and related issues. In 2014, after a joint application by our college and Leshan Normal University, ATCM2015 was scheduled to take place in Leshan from December 16th to 19th of this year. At that time, more than 160 international scholars from over 30 countries and more than 200 domestic experts and scholars will gather in Leshan to discuss the integration of mathematics and technology.
