From June 22nd to 26th, at the invitation of Mr. Arnold Strauss, President of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Dean Xue Jianping of our college led a delegation, including heads of the Office and International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Academic Affairs Office, Nursing Department, and Pharmacy Department, to visit Cincinnati. The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on the construction of the Affiliated Hospital of Leshan Vocational and Technical College and signed a cooperation agreement.

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, founded in 1883, ranks among the top three in the world in both medical clinical practice and research. It is also one of the oldest and best children’s hospitals in the United States, with world-class hospital management experience, medical equipment, and a team of medical experts. The hospital currently employs over 13,000 staff members and has an annual operating revenue of more than 2 billion US dollars.

According to the signed agreement, Leshan Vocational and Technical College and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital will launch a healthcare exchange program, sending experts and medical staff to each other’s institutions for exchange and learning. Cincinnati Children’s Hospital will also guide the construction plan of our college’s affiliated hospital and provide hospital management experience. When the timing is right, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital will invest in and take shares in our college’s affiliated hospital with its world-class brand, medical technology, and facilities.

In addition, during the visit to the United States, the delegation also visited the University of Cincinnati and held talks with Dr. Andrew Frank, Dean of the Office of Student Affairs and the College of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati, and Dr. Lunna Zhong, Director of China Affairs at the University of Cincinnati’s International Office. The two sides had a friendly exchange on establishing an educational friendly partnership and conducting inter-university cooperation projects, reaching a consensus on cooperation.

The delegation’s visit to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and the signing of the cooperation agreement successfully completed the expected tasks of the visit. This has pushed the college’s international exchanges and cooperation to a new level and laid a solid foundation for the construction of the college’s affiliated hospital and the realization of the college’s leapfrog development.
