The forum was held at the Beijing Jiuyou Xinyuan Hotel and was hosted by the Chinese Tao Xingzhi Research Association and the Tao Xingzhi Education Foundation.
The forum was attended by Vice President Lv Dexiong of the Chinese Tao Xingzhi Research Association, Executive President Sun Xiaobing of the China Education Strategy Development Association (former Director of the Policy Research and Legal System Construction Department of the Ministry of Education), Deputy Director Pan Dengyu of the Education and Skills Department of the UK Department for International Trade, and representatives from more than 20 invited domestic universities and 12 universities from Northern Ireland and the West of Scotland in the UK.
At the forum, representatives from Chinese and UK universities discussed new models of Sino - UK educational cooperation, enhancing China's educational international influence through such cooperation, and serving "Belt and Road" countries. In the nursing education sub - forum, the University of Central Lancashire, the University of Cumbria, Teesside University, and Belfast Metropolitan College introduced their own education situations and nursing cooperation projects. The chairman and representatives from the Northern Ireland Further Education Association introduced the UK vocational education and modern apprenticeship training models and had in - depth discussions.
During the meeting, our college was honored as a member of the first council of the "China - UK Modern Apprenticeship Education Cooperation Development Alliance." In addition, after in - depth discussions, President Liu Zhong signed a memorandum of cooperation with the University of Cumbria and the Northern Ireland Further Education Association (which includes six vocational colleges in Northern Ireland) on behalf of the college. He also reached a preliminary intention for cooperation with the University of Central Lancashire in the construction of nursing major courses. This laid the foundation for future cooperation between the college and UK universities, especially vocational colleges, in areas such as teacher - student exchanges and resource sharing.
