On September 18, 2018, Mayor Yoon Hoesik of Ansan City, South Korea, along with his delegation, visited our college accompanied by Vice Mayor Liao Kequan of Leshan City. The two sides held a symposium to discuss educational and cultural exchanges and cooperation. The symposium took place in the first conference room of the Academic Exchange Center. Wang Yi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Leshan Municipal People's Government, Luo Hong, Secretary of the Party Group of the Leshan Municipal Bureau of Investment Promotion and Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs, Chen Linqiang, Director of the Leshan Municipal Tourism and Sports Commission, Wu Xiuwen, Director of Leshan TV Station, Tan Hui, President of the Leshan People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and others attended the symposium. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Zhang Xuehe of the college.
At the symposium, Vice Mayor Liao Kequan of Leshan City said that the successful establishment of a friendly cooperative relationship between Leshan and Ansan cities would greatly promote exchanges and cooperation in various fields, including the economy and culture. Among all the cooperation, educational cooperation is the foundation. The Leshan Municipal Government will actively promote educational cooperation between universities in Leshan and South Korea in the fields of photovoltaic energy, electronics, education, culture, art, sports, and tourism. It will also encourage schools from both countries to strengthen academic exchanges, faculty and student exchanges, and folk culture exchanges, and further expand more areas of cooperation.
Jian Lu, Secretary of the College Party Committee, warmly welcomed the delegation from Ansan City led by Mayor Yoon Hoesik. He introduced the college's major settings, talent cultivation methods, international cooperation and exchanges, and international student education to the guests. He expressed the hope that with the support and promotion of Mayor Yoon Hoesik, the college could expand educational cooperation with Ansan City and jointly cultivate international talents who can integrate the economic and cultural exchanges between China and South Korea.
Mayor Yoon Hoesik thanked the Leshan Municipal Government and Leshan Vocational and Technical College for their warm reception and introduced the basic situation of Ansan City. He said that Ansan and Leshan have many commonalities and that there is much room for mutual learning and common development in tourism, culture, education, and industry. He hoped that the two sides would deepen cooperation in these areas in the future and achieve mutual benefits.
The delegation from Ansan City also visited the photovoltaic new energy training laboratory and factory of the college.
