​Party Committee Secretary of the College Attends Government - Hosted Meeting with Nepalese Minister

On September 8, 2018, Party Committee Secretary Jian Lu led the Tourism Department Director Tan Hong, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office He Dehong, and Nepalese international students from our college to Emei Mountain to attend a government - hosted meeting with Nepalese Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Aviation Bhim Prashad and Minister of Education and Philosophy of the ruling party H.B. Chhetri. The meeting was held at the Yizhuang Hotel in Emei Mountain and chaired by Zhang Xudong, Deputy Director of the Leshan Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee. Also attending were the Leshan Municipal Health Bureau, Leshan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and Leshan Ceramic Association.


At the meeting, Jian Lu introduced the college's majors, characteristics, international exchanges, and international student education. He focused on the cooperation between the college and Nepal since 2014, the training of Nepalese students, and expressed the hope to strengthen friendly exchanges with Nepalese universities, recruit Nepalese students, and provide short - term professional skills training for Nepalese government and institutions with the support of the Nepalese Ministry of Culture.


Minister Prashad thanked the college for its training and support of Nepalese students. He said that under the Belt and Road Initiative, Nepal's economic development is rapid, and the demand for skilled technical personnel is increasing. Compared to China, Nepal's vocational education is still backward and needs support from excellent vocational colleges like Leshan Vocational and Technical College. The Nepalese Ministry of Culture will promote friendly sister - school cooperation between high - quality Nepalese universities and Leshan Vocational and Technical College, exchange teachers and students, send Nepalese students to Leshan for language and professional skills training, and establish cooperative education in Nepal when conditions are ripe.


After the meeting, Minister Prashad warmly greeted our Nepalese students and took photos with them.
