On July 3rd, a delegation from Thailand’s Paramachanok King Health Workforce Development Institute (PIHWD) of the Ministry of Public Health, including Dr. Rukchart, the director of PIHWD, Dr. San Chom, the director of Policy and Strategy, Ms. Benjaporn, the director of Educational Development, and representatives from 11 nursing colleges in Thailand, visited our college. The group consisted of over 20 people. An exchange symposium was held in Conference Room 1 of the Academic Exchange Center. Attending the symposium were Jie Lu, Secretary of the College Party Committee, Chen Zhihai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chen Yingli, Deputy Researcher from the Leshan Investment Promotion and Foreign Affairs & Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau, as well as heads and relevant staff from the International Cooperation Office, Academic Affairs Office, and Medical and Nursing Department of the college. The symposium was chaired by Chen Zhihai.
During the symposium, Secretary Jie Lu extended a warm welcome to the delegation from the Paramachanok King Health Workforce Development Institute. He first introduced the overall situation and academic program construction of our college after moving to the new campus, focusing on the cooperation history with multiple Thai nursing universities since 2010 and the fruitful achievements over the past eight years. He noted that Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s visit to our college in April of this year marked a new phase in educational cooperation between our college and Thailand. Our college will further expand exchanges and cooperation with Thailand in the fields of nursing, new energy, and photovoltaics. Dr. Rukchart, the director of PIHWD, congratulated our college on the achievements in cooperation with Thai nursing institutions over the years and expressed his desire to establish cooperation with our college to continue promoting Sino-Thai faculty and student exchanges, academic exchanges, and other educational cooperation projects. Radawan, the president of the PIHWD University Presidents Association and the director of the Queen Mother Nursing College in Nonthaburi (former director of the Queen Mother Nursing College in Suphan Buri), reviewed the cooperation between our college and the Queen Mother Nursing College in Suphan Buri since 2010 and expressed her commitment to continuing the student exchange programs between our college and Thai nursing institutions to further deepen cooperation.
During the meeting, both sides had in-depth discussions on faculty exchanges, student exchange programs, bachelor’s degree programs, joining the “Belt and Road” Nursing Education Alliance, and hosting the second Sino-Thai International Nursing Education Forum in Thailand. They agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding with PIHWD during the second Sino-Thai International Nursing Education Forum in January 2019.
In the afternoon, the delegation toured the nursing training laboratory, energy center, and student cafeteria of the college.
