From November 10 to 14, 2017, a delegation from the Luang Prabang Provincial Department of Education, Laos, visited our college for cooperation discussions. On the morning of November 13, a symposium was held in the 424 conference room with the delegation, including Mr. En Leesavanh, Director of the Luang Prabang Provincial Department of Education; Mr. Soudapon, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism; and Ms. Bua Lo Itapone, Director of the Vocational Education Division of the Department of Education. In attendance were Mr. Zhou Quan, Deputy Director of the Leshan Municipal Education Bureau; Mr. Tan Hui, President of the Leshan Association for International Friendship; Mr. Yang Chengyi, Director of the Friendship City Division; Mr. Jian Lu, Secretary of the Party Committee of our college; Mr. Chen Zhihai, Deputy Party Secretary and Discipline Inspection Commission Secretary; Mr. Zhang Xuehe, Vice President; as well as heads of the International Cooperation Office, Academic Affairs Office, Human Resources Office, Student Affairs Office, Planning and Finance Office, Basic Courses Department, and all members of the International Student Management Office. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Secretary Chen Zhihai.

During the meeting, Secretary Jian Lu first reviewed the cooperation between our college and Luang Prabang, Laos, and the college's development plan. Since 2011, our college has been cooperating with Luang Prabang, and currently, 43 students from the province are studying at our college. In July of this year, Deputy Secretary Chen Zhihai led a delegation to Laos for cooperation project talks and signed a cooperation agreement with the Luang Prabang Provincial Department of Education. The visit of Director En Leesavanh to our college will undoubtedly deepen the cooperative relationship between Laos and our college and mark a good beginning for the exchange and cooperation between Luang Prabang and Leshan City. Mr. En Leesavanh, Director of the Luang Prabang Provincial Department of Education, expressed his gratitude for the education and care provided to Laotian students by our college and stated his willingness to continue strengthening and expanding cooperation and exchanges with our college and Leshan City in the future, elevating the friendship between the two sides to a new level. Mr. Zhou Quan, Deputy Director of the Leshan Municipal Education Bureau, expressed the hope that Luang Prabang Province and Leshan City will strengthen cooperation in basic education in the future. Mr. Tan Hui, President of the Leshan Association for International Friendship, expressed the desire to establish sister city relationships between Leshan City and the cities under the jurisdiction of Luang Prabang Province, hoping to enhance friendly exchanges and strengthen Sino-Lao friendship in the future.

In the afternoon, both sides also held in-depth talks on the establishment of a Leshan Vocational and Technical College Laos Chinese Language Training Center in Luang Prabang and reached a consensus: The language training center will be provided with classrooms by the Luang Prabang Provincial Department of Education, and our college will dispatch management personnel and teachers and provide teaching equipment and facilities. Efforts will be made to establish the "Leshan Vocational and Technical College Laos Branch" in Luang Prabang by 2018.

The delegation from the Luang Prabang Provincial Department of Education also selected and sent 25 international students from Luang Prabang to our college during this visit.
