Cultural Exchange Activity with James Madison University
On the afternoon of June 24th at 4:00 p.m., a delegation of 11 people, including 9 students from James Madison University (JMU) in the United States and their 2 faculty members, visited our college. Students from the International Nursing Program of our college’s Nursing Department held a face-to-face exchange activity with the visiting American teachers and students in the nursing skills training laboratory.
During the exchange meeting, a student representative from our college extended a warm welcome to the American friends who had traveled a long distance. The representative also introduced the overall situation of our college, its academic programs, and the learning and living conditions of students on campus. A student representative from the American side explained the purpose of their exchange visit and provided an overview of James Madison University. Both parties engaged in discussions on topics of mutual interest, including university life and cultural differences between China and the United States. In light of the recent Dragon Boat Festival, students from our college introduced traditional Chinese festival customs to the American teachers and students. They also showcased the essence of Chinese Hanfu culture on-site and presented gifts with auspicious meanings, such as fragrant sachets and longevity threads, to the visiting guests.
Through this face-to-face cultural exchange between Chinese and American students, both sides deepened their understanding of the cultural differences between the two countries. This event further broadened the international horizons of our students and enhanced the international atmosphere on our campus.
