E'mei Mountain, with its beautiful natural scenery and rich cultural heritage, is a popular tourist destination. The participants of the 2019 "China Roots - Seeking Journey" Summer Camp in Leshan were also eager to visit. On the morning of August 6, the fourth day of the camp, the participants got up early and set off from the Academic Exchange Center of Leshan Vocational and Technical College to E'mei Mountain.
As a light rain fell, four buses carrying the participants arrived at a beautiful but slightly "mysterious" place—the Nongfu Spring factory in E'mei Mountain. After gathering, the participants entered the factory in small groups to tour the production workshop. The production line of Nongfu Spring is highly modernized. Bottled mineral water and other products continuously moved along the line, with only a few workers on duty at key positions. Many tasks, such as packing and stacking, were completed by machines, which attracted the participants to stop and take photos from time to time.
After leaving the picturesque Nongfu Spring factory, the participants arrived at the Emei Mountain Great Buddha Chan Temple, located in the urban area of Emei Mountain, to learn about traditional Chinese Buddhist culture. After a brief grouping, the participants entered the temple quietly and orderly under the guidance of their tour guides for a visit.
During the visit, many team leaders and participants expressed that this was the first time they had seen such a large temple, and they felt their horizons had truly been broadened.
It is understood that a small number of participants had some understanding of traditional Chinese Buddhist culture through works such as "Journey to the West," while the majority did not know much. Today, through the visit and the detailed explanations of the tour guides, they gained a deeper understanding of Chinese Buddhism and recognized the profoundness and long - standing nature of Chinese historical culture.
