Time:2017-11-08

In service of the "Belt and Road" Initiative, to promote the common development of nursing education between China and Thailand, share the talent demands and future development trends of the nursing industry in both countries, and enhance exchanges, dialogue, and cooperation in the field of nursing among universities, research institutions, hospitals, government departments, and related organizations in China and Thailand, Leshan Vocational and Technical College (hereinafter referred to as "Leshan College") will host the 2017 China-Thailand International Nursing Education Forum on November 9-10.

At that time, experts from China, Thailand, Germany, Nepal, and other countries will gather in Leshan to participate in expert lectures and specialized discussions, share new achievements, developments, and dynamics in nursing education and the nursing industry, and explore international cooperation in nursing education. The forum aims to build a platform for resource sharing and improve the quality of nursing talent cultivation.

Highlight 1: Large Scale - Leshan College's First International Academic Forum

The forum will be held at the Academic Exchange Center of the new campus of Leshan College. "This is the first time that Leshan College has hosted a large-scale international academic forum, and the participants are all top figures in the nursing industry," said Ms. Huang Xiaoli, Director of the International Cooperation Office of Leshan College, in an interview with reporters. The forum has invited many heavyweight guests from the nursing industry, including university presidents, nursing department heads, and hospital directors from various countries, who will deliver speeches and presentations on different topics.

As the host, Leshan College attaches great importance to the event and has mobilized the entire college to ensure the smooth running of the forum. The forum aims to summarize and inherit the fine traditions of nursing education through international academic exchanges and build a platform for mutual understanding, learning, and friendship.

Highlight 2: High Level - Nursing Education Discussed from an International Perspective

If the opening ceremony of the forum tomorrow presents a visual feast for the participants, the nursing education forum that follows will be an intellectual feast in the field of nursing education. Over the two days, eight speeches and specialized discussions will be highly engaging.

Among them, nursing experts and medical group leaders from Germany will deliver keynote speeches on the German health and nursing education system and practical teaching in the dual-track vocational education system for nursing in Germany. Experts from Thailand will present a special lecture and discussion on "The Transformation of Nursing Education in the 21st Century," sharing advanced "Thai experiences."

Ms. Yuan Li, a senior nurse from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, will deliver a keynote speech titled "Innovation and Practice in Clinical Nursing Education." Ms. Liu Huaping, Dean of the School of Nursing at Peking Union Medical College, will present a SWOT analysis of the development of nursing education in China under the current situation.

Notably, Ms. Ma Zhiqun, a senior nurse from Leshan People's Hospital, will give a special lecture on "Building and Practicing a Teaching Model for Intern Nurses Based on Clinical Nursing Competence." In the specialized discussion at the forum, Ms. Li Hongmei, a nursing teacher from Leshan College, will share her experience and insights on "Introducing the International Nursing Practice Examination (ISPN) into the International Nursing Class Teaching Practice at Leshan College."

Highlight 3: Rich Gains - Cultivating High-Quality Nursing Talents

In recent years, with the rapid progress of medical technology and the gradual deepening of medical reform in China, the focus of medical care has expanded from "patients" in need of treatment to a broader group with health needs. The concept of medical and nursing care has also undergone significant changes. Nursing, which accounts for 70% of medical care, has always been an essential part of medical work.

"The cultivation of nursing talents cannot be separated from advanced concepts and practical environments. Through this forum, we can learn from the experiences of other countries and regions, form alliances to set relevant standards, and further promote the improvement of nursing education in our college. We aim to cultivate the comprehensive abilities of nursing talents in terms of knowledge, attitude, and skills," said Ms. Ding Yu, Deputy Director of the Nursing Department at Leshan College. Through international academic forums, the college will increase the intensity of nursing talent cultivation, further strengthen humanities and vocational education, enhance clinical practice teaching, and establish a clear direction for talent cultivation.
