Our Institute Attends the Signing Ceremony of the "Hong Kong-Sichuan Vocational College Pairing 5+5" Program

On the morning of April 15, 2016, Deputy Party Secretary and Discipline Inspection Commission Secretary Chen Zhihai of our college, along with relevant personnel from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, attended the signing ceremony of the "Hong Kong-Sichuan Vocational College Pairing 5+5" program, held at Sichuan Changjiang Vocational College. Also attending the ceremony were representatives from the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council and its five constituent Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education campuses, as well as leaders from Sichuan College of Architectural Technology, Sichuan College of Posts and Telecommunications, Sichuan Vocational College of Culture and Industry, and Chengdu Vocational and Technical College. The ceremony was attended by Ms. Lai Yingli, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education; Mr. Wu Meng, Deputy Director of the United Front Work Department of the Provincial Committee; Mr. Yang Yulin, Director of the United Front Work Department of the Chengdu Municipal Committee; and Ms. Cheng Li, Deputy Minister of the Communist Youth League of Sichuan Province. The cooperation with Hong Kong was facilitated through the educational platform established by Sichuan Changjiang Vocational College in Hong Kong. With the approval of the Department of Education, Sichuan Changjiang Vocational College has organized the "Sichuan University Students' Hong Kong Tour" series of activities within Sichuan. Our college has already sent two groups of a total of seven students to participate in this program.

At the signing ceremony, Mr. Han Jin, Chairman of Sichuan Changjiang Vocational College, extended a warm welcome to the guests attending the event. Dr. Can Shaobin, Deputy Director of the International Exchange Office of the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council, and Professor Huang Yonggen, Vice President of the Hong Kong Higher Institute of Technology, delivered speeches expressing their desire to strengthen cooperation with Sichuan vocational colleges and enhance exchanges and visits between young people in Sichuan and Hong Kong. Ms. Ling Hong, Deputy Secretary of Chengdu Vocational and Technical College, spoke on behalf of the five Sichuan vocational colleges.

A student representative from our college who participated in the "Tracing Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Footsteps and Pursuing the Chinese Dream of National Rejuvenation" delegation to Hong Kong made a report.

The five campuses of the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education under the jurisdiction of the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council are as follows:

  • Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Mongkok) - Construction Engineering Department

  • Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi) - Hotel, Service and Tourism Department

  • Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Chai Wan) - Information Technology Department

  • Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Sha Tin) - Information Technology Department (Animation and Gaming Specialization)

  • Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tuen Mun) - Business and Management Department
