On October 17th, a delegation of over 40 deans and representatives from the Central Alliance II and Northern Alliance of Thai Nursing Universities, comprising nine universities in total, visited our college for an exchange. A symposium was held in the conference room on the third floor of our college. Attending the symposium were Jie Lu, Secretary of the Party Committee, Liu Zhong, President of the college, Chen Zhihai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Discipline Inspection Secretary, as well as heads and relevant staff from the International Office, Academic Affairs Office, Legal Affairs Office, Human Resources Office, Research Office, and Nursing Department. During the meeting, Secretary Jie Lu extended a warm welcome to the visiting leaders and faculty from the member universities of the Central Alliance II and Northern Alliance of Thai Nursing Universities. He introduced the college’s educational programs to the guests and emphasized the need to strengthen exchanges and interactions. He suggested that, based on deepening educational cooperation in the medical and nursing fields, both sides should expand the scope and forms of cooperation and explore collaboration in areas such as tourism and photovoltaic energy. Deputy Secretary Chen Zhihai shared the college’s cooperation journey with Thai friendly institutions since 2009 and highlighted the achievements in international exchange and cooperation. Representative of the Thai Nursing University Alliance, Dean Radawan of the Queen Mother Nursing College in Suphan Buri, introduced the visiting alliance schools and affirmed the outcomes of the long-term cooperation and exchanges between the faculty and students of both sides. She expressed her hope that this visit would further elevate bilateral cooperation to a new level and proposed cooperation in student exchanges, faculty visits, joint research, and the rotation of hosting the "China-Thailand Nursing Education Forum."
Finally, both parties signed a framework agreement of cooperation intent. After the meeting, the delegation toured the Nursing Department.
Our college initiated cooperation with Thailand in 2009 through the Sichuan Province-Thailand Youth Homestay Exchange Program. With the help of the Royal Thai Consulate General in Chengdu, in 2011 our college signed friendly cooperation agreements with the Thai Red Cross Nursing College, Queen Mother Nursing College in Suphan Buri, Royal Garuda School, and Bashe Vocational and Technical College. Since 2011, our college has annually sent 4-6 nursing students to Thailand for an 8-month exchange program and has received about 10 students from Thai friendly partner institutions for exchange studies each year.
